Cliche after Cliche
Eric Church the record company bad boy. It's all phony; his stylist created look, record company created image, PR team/computer generated songs.
Why do you all buy into this Music Row crap? It isn't authentic. Church isn't authentic. His songs are one cliche after another. They sound like every other Bro Country performer trying to get on the radio, or into the hands of a dance hall DJ. If you believe that Eric is breaking new ground, or bringing Country back to its roots - you know little about music, or its history.
Every few years Music Row spits out their latest bad boy of Country - they all disappear because people grow weary of the saccharine taste you get from playing their music. Go ahead, look up the long list.
Hank, Johnny, Waylon, Kris, and George didn't need stylists or a phony image. Country music has become the McDonalds of music - the lowest common denominator.
10 years from now you'll ask your buddies "hey, what ever happened to Eric Church?"
20 years from now you'll never hear his songs.
50 years from now no one will know who he was, but they will still play Johnny Cash.
