This is an absolutely beautiful album. My favorite song is "Gloria". Jewel's voice is amazing on this song and the piano music is wonderful. I highly recommend this album.

    Perfect songs for her voice!
  • A Vocally Inappropriate Lullaby Album

Although the instrumentation is pleasant, the vocals on this album are quite jarring. Jewel's voice is clearly not fit for singing lullabies, as it is shrill, nasal, and a little bit too bright. To make matters worse, Jewel does not utilize a true vibrato while singing, resulting in an awkward vocal delivery. The selection of lullabies Jewel sang on this album is not the greatest. There is not one track that stands out here, all because of Jewel's horrid vocals.

All three of my kids have listened to this album to fall asleep at bedtime. It is a beautiful and soothing collection of lullabies, and paired with Jewel's lovely voice it somehow magically puts all of my kids to sleep. Even I get drowsy listening to it! Bedtime wizardry!!
  • Simply one of her best albums to date.

Deep in the canyon…. Disguised as an adult lullaby, this is easily one of her most cohesive and organically composed albums ever. From start to finish, there is not a single bad song. Her voice is emotional, her compositions and productions are raw, and the journey you take is different with every listen. My personal stand out tracks: Raven, Sweet Dreams, The Cowboy’s Lament, and Daydream Land.

Sov Gott is the most hauntingly beautiful Scandinavian lullaby! My husband, baby and I are such big fans of this album.
