Most of the Chinese/Asian music on itunes is made by Westerners using sythesisers, keyboards with exotic background electronic music. This cd is the real thing, original style and instruments. Very relaxing and wonderful!

Finally we get great classical chinese music, not souped up for western tastes. The "Elegant Orchid in Jieshi Tune" is a superb in how modern some of this music sounds. Performances have great nuances and seemed to be recorded in front of an audience. Very intimate and meditative.
