Alan Walker kills it- every. single. time.
I feel like I’m forever indebted to the friend who introduced me to Sir Alan Walker (as he certainly deserves knighthood for the sheer joy his music brings to me and so many others) I first heard of Alan Walker, and the song “Faded” late on election night, November, 2016. I was understandably (well, I think many will be able to relate) in the depths of despair, disbelief, and just plain fear. Alan Walker’s music is all that kept me from a total nervous breakdown that night. His music was/is so engrossing that it pulls you into this other (quite wonderful) world, and makes you forget (if only temporarily) your problems, worries, and anxieties, in a way no music has ever done for me before. It’s like he’s come up with what I can only think to call “Techno Crisis Intervention” I’m telling you, it’s better than popping a Xanax! If got me through 2016’s election night, so I’m pretty sure I can rely on Alan Walker to get me through just about anything. And that’s not to say his music is only good for when things get rough and you need an escape- far from it. It’s the perfect soundtrack for just about any aspect of life. From making driving less mundane, to getting you pumped before going to the gym (and while you're there too, obviously), to making horribly boring household chores a whole lot less dreadful, (and makes it all seem to go faster), to jamming to in the shower, to, as stated before, working as an effective escape when necessary. Really, the only thing I wouldn’t recommend his music for is bedtime- as it’d likely make falling asleep pretty difficult. On the other hand however, it’s the perfect wake up music to get you psyched to get up and start your day off with a smile (and this is coming from the most extreme non-“morning person” on the planet! I’m sure I’m sounding very dramatic, and as if I’m exaggerating and/or getting paid to write this, but I promise I’m not. He is just that great, and special to me. He simply kills it time after time! At least buy a couple songs and give him a chance- “Faded” & “Alone” are two of my favorites. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
