  • Outstanding Electric Blues

Certainly one of the best electric blues albums I have ever heard. Kim Simmonds is on top of his game here. Have listened to Savoy Brown for years - this is far and away their best effort in my opinion.

Close to Midnight's an incredible guitar, bass, drum instrumental. Reminds me of the Lookin' In Days all over again... ahhhhhh

Saw SB in the mid 70's while stationed at Offutt AFB. They played a street show in Omaha with Head East and Ogden Edsel {Dead Puppies}, haven't thought of them in years till I heard this and I highly recommend it.

I saw these guys back in 73 opening for Deep Purplein Boston. Always on the fringe for me liking them-kinda background FM music. My god this album is unbelievable - Simmonds playing is top notch Blues. My favorite is Why Did you Hoodoo Me.. Buy this immediately..

I havent followed S.B. for a long time and decided to check it out. This production is extremely well done. Cool bass driven rhythm with some kick back and accelerated licks. Simmond's vocals are superb and after sampling each song I bought the complete album. This is rare for me. It just cuts into your very soul.
  • It's all about the music!

Having had the pleasure of seeing Kim Simmonds and the latest incarnation of Savoy Brown recently, it was great to hear some of these new tunes being played live. Here are some great blues tunes, but the real highlight is Mr. Simmonds guitar playing. Not flashy (but it can be), and his playing gets his point across very simply. Kim Simmonds has carried the blues torch for over 50 years now, and this is just another very good mile marker in that career. This might just be the best one in a long line of great albums!
