The Murphys Are Back!
And I feel like after everything they have done to keep us entertained the last year, they don't get nearly enough credit for it! Yes, I did watch all of their streams and will continue to do so.
This album is classic Murphys from start to finish. Tracks like Smash S**t Up and Middle Finger would fit right in with the Barroom Hero days, while Chosen Few is a great tribute to the events of the nightmare year that was 2020. And I Wish You Were Here will make a great show closer when live events return. If you're a Murphys fan at all, don't hesitate to get this one!
This is just fun to listen to. Dropkicks still pumping out the jams
Another crap album
Sounds nothing like they used to, songs are all meaningless tripe and the whole album is little more than a half hour long, another disappointment from these has been who don’t know when to quit
Smash I got
Some of their best work! The maturity of this bands musical sense really shows through without losing the sense of urgency that their previous album’s had.
By Tom really I cant use just Tom
Downloaded it on Apple Music, listened to it once, and then deleted it. While Dropkick always claimed to be for the working person, they now seem to be about bashing the USA, being woke, and kissing political butt. Musically, it’s about as good as 11 Short Stories, however it will never reach the musical greatness of the Meanest of Times, Going Out in Style, and Signed and Sealed. Da da da da, Good Bye.
Going in the right direction
This has a very going out in style vibe but slow. Songs are good, much better than their last album. All n all it’s good but kinda boring. Would have love the pace and energy injected into the album - Why else are we listening to them. Good as gold and chosen few are quite energetic and good.
The above review is insane. Listen to Do Or Die all the way up to Sing Loud, Sing Proud. Then tell me this is the same band. This stuff is just okay. The first three albums are absolute powder kegs. This is just safe. It's fine, but it is NOT the same band from the early 2000's. Wow.
Are they still a thing?
I think it's safe to say...
...this band is never going to get accused of selling out. They are as Dropkick Murphy as AC/DC is AC/DC.
