It's rare that every single song on an album is outstanding, this is one. The Hollies were just that. I grew up as a teen during 60's although the Beatles produced a lot more, the Hollies were their equals.

he ain't my brother, he's heavy . . . . .
Air that I breathe
Nothing wrong w/this!
Mixing tracks in this manner was not uncommon back when this was recorded. Listen to some early Beatles singles and you'll see the same thing, over and over.
BTW, this is a fantastic collection. A one-stop Hollies compilation you really can't go wrong with.
He ain't heavy he's my brother
By The 60s
Truly one of the most emotional songs for anyone who has ever lost a brother or soldiers who lost fellow soldiers Also paid back with interest one of the most underrated songs they ever had
on a carousel another great song
The mix on the first three tracks is AWFUL!!! All the voices are on the right, and all the instruments are on the left. If you like the first three tracks on this record (and I do) then get the EMI, not the Capitol versions. Otherwise, the rest of it is fine.
Stop, Stop Stop! DON'T BUY THIS!!
By Bryan Hurst
DO NOT buy this album! Buy the other one that has all the songs except "The Air That I Breathe" for 9.90, then buy "TATIB" for .99... you'll save two bucks. But in terms of the quality of the music, hey - it's a best-of from a great, underappreciated band. Though I can't believe "I Can't Let Go" isn't included. I'd include that one before either "TATIB" or "He Ain't Heavy."
You just can't beat this kind of Music. The Hollies are awsome and bring back such great memories for those of us in that time period. You have to have this album for your collection.
Includes "The Air That I Breathe"...
"The Air That I Breathe" was not on the original release, as it was released after this greatest hits collection. Therefore, you are getting more than the original album. "TATIB" was one of my favourites from High School. I also loved "Long Dark Road" when this album came out. "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" might move you to tears when you discover the story behind the song. If you are younger and just want to sample - try songs # 1, 4, 5, 7, 10 & 13. By the time you sample 5-6 songs though, you might as well get the whole album. I don't think that you will be disappointed with it.
I used to listen to this when i was 4. I just found the album again and listened to it. I still love. The Hollies arent as famous but they are as good at the Beatles!
