Normally i can't stand hair metal, its just not loud or heavy enough for me.but these guys are the real deal. Real HEAVY metal, with choruses, circuses and codpieces

Blackie Lawless has one of the best heavy metal voices that i've ever heard.

I have been a w.a.s.p fan for years. i gotta say. this is an amazing album. something i want to touch on is that people think that they are one of those awful glam bands. but they are not!!! they ARE FAR FROM IT!!!. i mean really. at there concerts, blackie threw raw meat at the crowd would drink blood, he had a crotch cup with spikes, i mean cmon. this is not glam, THIS ROCKS!!!!

  • Ode to Uncle Blackie.

One of the most underrated albums ever. I listen to all genres. This is one of my favorite rock albums of all time. I had a chance to see them live in a club with Metallica and Armored Saint in St. Louis and they were unbelievable. A funny side note.....I was so into this band in early Jr. High that I used to cut full color pictures of Blackie out of all the music mags and replace my family members photos with them. I mean all over the house. Friends from school would come by to here our band play and we would tell them that they were pictures of my Moms brother............Uncle Blackie! Chris Day

Musically, W.A.S.P. fit right in with the typical glam rock bands that were coming out of L.A. at the time (Poison, Motley Crue, etc). Image-wise, they were basically just ripping off what Alice Cooper did in the 1970's. If you like 1980's glam rock, then you'll love W.A.S.P. (or as I called 'em, W.A.N.K.) Here's a great story about these clowns: In 1987, W.A.S.P. went on tour with Slayer. Talk about your mismatch tours!!!! At one particular show, W.A.S.P. tried to win over Slayer's fans by handing out posters. Slayer's fans were not amused, & they took the posters & turned them into torches!!!! Today, Slayer can still pack 'em in at major venues, while W.A.S.P. would be lucky to get a half-way decent crowd at some hole-in-the-wall club!!!!

dude people all ways tell me wasp was glam ok have u ever listened to any of there lyrics i mean seriously there just like a slower slayer with hair spray sometimes
  • Great Debut!

W.A.S.P.'s debut album really came on the scene back in the day. Lot of good tunes on this album. I think "The Last Command" is a superior album to this one but only by a nose. Must own for 80's metal fans. You can skip over the last track which is a Rolling Stones cover.
