Not classic Trower, but worth listening to!
If you want to hear Trower take his silky 70's blues rock into a distinctly slicker 80's melodic rock direction, this is the way to go. I grew up on stuff like this, but I always had so much love for the decade before, and to hear the two realms collide this way is really cool. Some of this may prove too "bubblegum" for the leather-glad heavy metal fan, but as a fan of Ratt, Dokken and Cinderella, I can get behind it with no problem. As a guitarist, Trower's perfectly capable of turning up the intensity to match these hard-driving tunes, and solos like those found on "Isn't It Time" are as good as any he ever cut in the 70's. I always enjoy the chance to hear a player I really like take his craft in a new direction, and this album is such an example.
