  • Misleading

Where is the Conan rehearsal version of "You Don't Know Me" The album as listed is good. The Stems and Seeds version of the album is much better, but there are tracks missing here. Worth a listen, but I definitely suggest you seek out the full album.
  • Not Quite as Good

Since Songs for Silverman, Ben's albums have been lacking a little bit in what made him so popular. In this album, he relies too much on overproduced sound effects and drum beats rather than the raw music presented in his other albums (other than the Altoids tin trick). Not to say that the album doesn't have its moments, but it doesn't contain the musical originality in the lyrics that Songs for Silverman has. This is basically Rockin' the Suburbs, but with six different versions of the song Rockin' the Suburbs. Obviously that song was meant to be a parody, but it worked because it was only one song on the album. In Way to Normal it seems too pessimistic. Its a decent album, but it doesn't hold a flame to Songs for Silverman.

This is Ben at his BEST. I've been following him since his first release with the 5. This is my favorite release since Rockin' the Suburbs. Full of Sweetness, Anger, Insight, Comedy and even Parody. I LOVE IT. The concert was outstanding, as well. BUY IT FOLKS
