  • A timely find in these trying times.

    By An Average American Patriot
These are the times that try men's souls. Liberty is under assault. Tyranny is in ascension. Thank you God, for letting me find my way to my roots and God & Guns by Lynyrd Skynyrd. "We might as well give up and run if we let 'em take our God & Guns."
  • God and Guns there best yet

    By judge sound not looks
Hope the new cd is as good as this one I think this one is the best the group has ever done but they never dissapoint. Good old southern rock at its finest. If you like this group check out the Tyler McCumber band's Catch Me ( simply the best southern rock cd in years )
  • Long live skynyrd!!

    By PatrickA8
This album is awesome! People want to complain, go listen to your lady gagas. This is great music and it's great to the fans and skynyrd that they keep it alive so we can listen to it. Still unbroken!!!
  • Great album!

Overall it sounds a little different but it still feels so much like Lynyrd Skynyrd.
  • Old vs New

Here is what bugs me. The people who complain and hate on post plane crash skynyrd. They say how much they hate Johnny and how they are just making money of the name of a band that Ronnie built. New skynyrd is not as good as old skynyrd and it never will be. But it is good wholesome southern rock and roll and all of it worth buying. If they were traveling under any other name people would be saying this is greatest band ever. And you know what? They would be right.
  • God and Guns!

This is Southern Rock at its best. For all of those who criticize this band because its not the "original" Skynard, when is the last time you heard decent southern rock in the recent years? Most importantly, this album is based off of everything Lynard Skynard is and believes in. All I have heard in the music industry is anti war, anti God, anti guns, and liberal beliefs for years. I love the true patriotism this band is about! So there is no "Free Bird" on here, but "aint my america" fits perfect in these times and I wish someone is standing outside of Obama's window and blasting that song!
  • Not The Same

    By Silvereel
It's not so much that it's bad music - even with the name I don't expect it to live up to Ronnie's music. But it's a slap in the face to the message we see in older Skynyrd songs. Listen to God and Guns and then Saturday Night Special.
  • Great and its pro-American.

What a great possitive album. It takes balls to critisize the liberals of today. Cant understand people who complain about this one. The vocals are great, guitar kicks and the songs have a great message behind them. This band never seems to get any respect. Go and critisize the beetles, listen too your nickleback and your lady ga ga's and leave skynyrd alone.
  • God and guns

Wow! I thought this album was the best southern rock I've heard in 30 years. Simple vocals to sing with and great guitar work. Ricky Medlocke is awesome. For those of you so-called Skynyrd fans go back and listen to their whole albums, not just the greatest hits stuff. Ronnie would be proud. And so would Steve Gaines and Billy Powell, especially on songs like Gifted Hands. And who dosen't like a good swamp song like Floyd. Find out the true story about that one. They're 50 something balladeers doing what they do, moving forward after more than their share of tragedy. I rate this as one the best new rock albums in decades.
  • The Legacy Lives On

    By Real Guy from Texas
Listening to this album for about the 20th time since downloading a couple of weeks ago. Was a Skynyrd fan in the 70's and grew up on southern rock. My iPod is full of old and new Skynyrd, Outlaws, Allmans, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels and Black Crowes for a modern twist. The musical quality of this album is superb, with typical Skynyrd range from country-rock to heavy metal riffs and guitar interplay, and the messages are real and are what they are. I'm bored with comparisons between 70's Skynyrd and 2009 Skynyrd; just like comparing Lakers or Yankees then and now. Just give this album the credit it deserves; one of the very best of the decade!
