Slim's music is basic and his lyrics always tell a great story. If you like blues do not pass up Slim Harpo.
  • A classic!

I saw Slim play a number of times in Baton Rouge. His lead guitar player was Rudolph who could play a guitar with his teeth. Nothing fancy, just solid beat blues. Sitting in a bar drinking a Bud and listening to Slim was the best. I am still a big fan of Raining In My Heart.
  • The Blueprint!

Deeply solid rhythm section, stinging guitar, moaning harp, and sly knowing vocals... this is the blueprint! The Stones came close, but this is the real deal.
  • Good Blues

Slim was hot and a certain group of guys from England liked him a lot. They called themselves "The Rolling Stones". Peace
  • I am pretty sure you should buy this...

The music of Slim Harpo is akin to sexual hypnotizm. Among the enlightened, this music is commonly known to stimulate movement and agitation in the nether regions. Personally, there are a few songs where I can't get past the weird, nasally quality in his voice. However, his awesomeness cannot be denied. My personal favorites are I'm a King Bee, I've Got Love If You Want It, Shake Your Hips, and Strange Love.

Faithful, clean, committed blues. A cleansing snare and guitar tell you how you need to feel. I can appreciate the testimony sliping through the cords on this album. Nice choice.
