So there are truly talented artists remaining. (At least ones we have access to on iTunes, right?) But maybe if Sharon were more mainstream we wouldn't think so highly of her music anymore... Maybe, maybe not. In any case, I'm feelin' this album!
Stax-o-Wax for our time!

I usually buy one song on a an album I like, but you have to treat the Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings like you just bought a 33 from Stax Records! I just turned it on and let it play, then put the needle back to the beginning and start again (so to speak)! Finally a reason to buy some music. I will give SJ and the DK's $10 any day.
Like fine wine

Really didn't think they could top their other albums before this because they are so awesome. BUT somehow they managed to do so. Really a great album and I suggest investing in Daptone Records catalog.

What can I say? Sharon Jones brings back soul. Real soul. I love her voice, her flair, and her stubborn resistance to the trend of hiding your voice behind a crap load of filters. She doesn't need auto tune. Thank God.
Love it!!

Too good...Thanks itunes for hosting mvyradio (under eclectic). They provide a steady stream of great tunes for those of us who are 40+, yet want to hear new music that is not too unfamiliar, yet fresh...and this fits the bill exactly. The itunes review hits the spot in the sound...would have sworn I was listening to some lost Mavis Staples song...but turned out to be new. Have not heard whole CD, but if "Better Things" is anything like the rest of the CD, then its a winner. (I know mvyradio put this CD in their top 25 CD's for 2010).
