As a lover of what many people consider to be "Real Jazz", I also enjoy Smooth Jazz. Kenny G was responsible for me becoming acquainted with the music of Miles Davis (my favorite artist), John Coltraine, Stan Getz, Thelonious Monk, and many other "Real Jazz" musicians. I started listening the Kenny G in college and that led to listening to other Smooth Jazz artists and eventually to Jazz. Smooth Jazz runs the gamut from Pop Music to music heavily influenced by Jazz. People forget, or don't know, that at one time Jazz was the Pop music of its day. Many Jazz standards were orignally Pop tunes redone as Jazz. The musical snobbery of many of the people here belies their "Real Jazz knowledge" and exposes them to be poseurs. All that said I liked some of the songs on this album and added them to my wish list. It is not a musical tour de force, but it is also far from being a blight on Western civilization. Get over yourselves!
