  • Great Anthology Set!!

    Just love it!!
  • Perfect Collection....however

    By He's Leaving Home
These songs are amazing. The acoustic demos on Anthology 3 can make a strictly acoustic White Album, and the original Across The Universe are amazing. Also, you get a whole view into the creative process of the greatest rock group of all time, however we don't have all the answers. I believe that this set gives us 90% of the story, but the 10% needs to be released on another album. Specifically Carnival of Light and Goodbye demo by McCartney. Even though we are missing songs, this is the definitive Beatles collection for fans.

This is an extraordinary box set. The ITunes description does it all the justice it deserves. Currently halfway through Anthology 2 after several days listening, and I don't regret my purchase one bit. If you're a fan of the Beatles, do yourself a favor and buy this.
  • Extraordinary Recordings

Already owning the mid nineties release of the Anthology Series, it was a hard decision to put down $70 for the 2010 release. But I was intrigued by a McCartney statement that technological advances have made every reissue of their music better and truer sounding to the original tracks. After listening to this box set, I can hear exactly what McCartney claimed. Beautiful new nuances of the recordings can be heard for the first time and this box set is such a joy to listen to. Starr's drumming is so clear, unique and powerful. Lennon's voice is even more complex and beautiful. His early demise is an even greater loss, if that is possible- Lennon had one of the richest, most textured voices in music history and it is center stage on this 2010 release. It is amazing to hear. I have an even greater appreciation of the track selections the remaining three Beatles and Ono chose for the Anthology Series. Very often the earliest raw takes of songs have an exquisite beauty all their own and offer alternative and significantly different recordings of their most famous work. And there are songs, previously unreleased that are wonderful additions to their already great body of work. There are absolutely no "bottom of the barrel tracks" other artists and record companies would release just for the sake of making another buck. The Anthology Box set adds a new dimension to The Beatle's work and is worth every nickel. Extraordinary.
  • Must have it!

Every version of every song you hear leads to a fuller, deeper, and more accurate experience when seriously listening to and hearing what they're doing. Listening to the final versions of songs afterward (from their albums, for instance) will never sound the same again! That is my experience. Songs I've heard 10,000 times and thought I knew inside out reveal subtleties that make me scream with joy, and awe, internally. 'A Day in the Life', and 'Strawberry Fields Forever,' for examples, have several different versions in the Anthology. Importantly; very importantly to me, I now know some of what led to these two masterpieces. The Beatles... (well words are not sufficient to illustrate my utter amazement by them).... I wish I could share my experience with you! I personally must hear, read and know all there is to know about them. By reading, listening, and playing with them (me on piano, them on iPod!) I become increasingly astonished. They are Perfect, in my opinion. A Beatles Researcher, a musician, a music student, a taxi driver, any human being, for that matter, would greatly benefit their lives, to say the very least, if time is spent on The Beatles. Insane sounding? I don't care! I love The Anthology. I LOVE the Beatles
  • Wow

I keep going back to George's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Something." Wow. I have heard these songs 1000's of times and the anthology versions are the best. They are uncut and raw. A listener will hear the emotion of each song and appreciate the set. Please buy. WOW
  • The Beatles

I love these albums, especially volumes 2 and 3! Hearing the alternate versions like Helter Skelter and them just jamming out messing around on other tracks! A must have for any Beatles lover!
  • The greatest

I always have and will love the Beatles. I don't know what happened to todays music but it needs to go back to the way it used to be; when music was more than a few lines on repeat.
  • I absolutely love this.

I'm obsessed with the Beatles, and this is a must-have for any fan. My favorites are Searchin' and Shout from the first installment, the early takes in the second one, and I love the demos in the third one, especially George's Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I'm not ashamed to say these are my favorite versions of those two songs. The whole thing is great. Just buy it, and you'll understand.
