  • Before the parrothead silliness

Songs from the golden era. My first concert was the Celebtity theater in Phoenix in 1973 with . naked girls running across the stage. My last was in San Diego early 90's. I lost interest and enjoyment with the larger venues and silly parrot heads. what was a show became a spectacle. One can enjoy a little piece of a wonderful past with this album.

This is Buffett at his best, with Fingers Taylor on harp, Barry Chance on guitar, Jay Spell on keyboards and the amazing Kenny Buttrey on drums. This was back when a Jimmy Buffett concert was all about the SONGS and the PERFORMANCE, not about getting hammered and wearing stupid parrots on your head. Sorry but Jimmy has become a parody of himself. Don't bother seeing Buffett this summer unless you like 2 mile long lines to the mens room and projectile vomiting. Get this live album and enjoy how it used to be.

I went to this concert barely knowing who this Buffett character was. A friend from Florida insisted a group of us go see this guy at the Fox. By the time 'God's Own Drunk' came around, we were having our own good time and to this day, I believe you can hear my friend yell out "And a fearless man!" It was an incredible time and this album does the entire night justice.

Like everyone has said this album is the best Jimmy Buffett album around. I've been listening to Buffett since I was a child and it doesn't get much better than this. I'm drinking cold beers and just enjoying this show right now and the only problem I have is that I didn't find this album earlier. Fins up everyone!!! Keep it up Jimmy

February of sophomore year of high school. My buddy's parents were out of town, his brother left a fake ID and a handful of Buffett and Jerry Jeff behind. The fake ID bought too much booze and by the end of the weekend, YHTBT became entrenched on my turntable. This is the way Buffett shows should be: kicked back with a little reefer and rum, and not the "shout-the-song" his shows have become. Plunk down $12 for the download, fire up some 'ritas and shrimp, string up the hammock and head to Margaritaville.

Yes, I love live music, and Buffet is meant to be heard live. And, along with Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus, REO speedwagon's You Get What You Play For, and a couple others, this is live music recorded at it's absolute finest. 5 stars without a doubt.

God this man is good! While other musical giants have faded and are no longer creative forces, Buffett stands alone still writing and performing like a man possessed. May he go on forever.
