I won’t deny that I wrestled between Sviatoslav Richter's interpretations with Karajan – but Kissin’s one seemed more relaxed –more in control. The sound was a bit better and so was the tempo. I might change my mind later on and buy the other one … a bit of advice – forget about Lang Lang
  • Youth & stamina, yet, well-balanced and beautiful

This is a super recording. Karajan and the Berlin Philarmonic are perfect as always. And Kissin gives a beautiful and still energetic interpretation of this beautiful and romantic piano concerto. Initially, I was a bit suspicious about this work, considering Kissin’s young age and huge stamina. But I was surprisingly delighted to hear such precise and well-balance interpretation by this young pianist. It is a must have for Tchaikovsky admires.
