So many words to use in describing this album. Is it sublime, just right, perfect and sublime? Or is it great because it brings you back to a moment in time where the pace of life was so much slower, and I'd argue a bit richer. Ella and Louis create magic here, for sure. It's one of the must have albums.

Such a great disc. Snatch this download at this ridiculous price. A true classic with both singing so nice on great standards. Plus some tasty Louis solos and well. Great support behind them as well. For 1956, audio is decent as well.
  • Simply the best, fabulous!

A desert island jazz album for sure. One of the best jazz albums in history, and that is saying quite a lot. Ella and Louis singing together with a world class rhythm section backing them. The talent on this album is simply staggering. The all-star rhythm section plays it cool and subdued, allowing Louis and Ella to shine. For me, hearing Louis in such a subdued and sophisticated setting is just unreal. The intimacy of this album is one of its greatest features. Can you imagine walking into a quiet jazz club and hearing this group? Pull up a table and sit in on a truly great and historic session!
