  • One Hit Wonder

Gotye is okay, I guess. Somebody That I Used To Know was obviously the only good song he had, though. #onehitwonder

  • Pure Art

A magnificent example of what happens when a man loves making music just enough to create songs that are art. I admit, there are songs I skip from time to time, as I would a painting. But when I sit back and look, examine it for details, there are these intricrate details. A brush stroke in such a direction. Instruments one does not notice right away. Focus on the drums for once. Now the violin. There was a violin in this song? What was that instrument?! Each song is a little masterpiece in its own right, and the album brings in a hefty, steaming plate of a fresh feast of an album. Notable from it is "Easy Way Out", "Somebody I Used to Know", "Eyes Wide Open", and "State of The Art". Well worth your money, and deservant of careful tastings like an aged wine, one must appreciate it with high quality headphones to really expirience all the work this man puts into his music. Thanks Wally! I can't wait for your next album.
  • One of the best albums I've bought in a long time

I'm not one who goes out and actively searches out new music - it sometimes comes to me in the weirdest ways - Somebody that I used to know was just starting to get radio play - and I had to have that song. As I got tired of the radio just bashing it into your brain, it took away some of the beauty of it - but that lead me to start listening to everything else on the album, and honestly, while "Somebody" was his most accessible it is by no means his best. I immediately gravitated towards the post apocalyptic "Eyes Wide Open" which, watch the video on how he created that song, and you will love it even more. State of the art has moved up the ranks, but, mostly I cannot go a day without listening to this album, and was lucky enough to see him when he came to Chicago, I can't wait to see what this talented individual does next, do yourself a favor and download this album today and give the whole thing a chance.

Is it just me or does Easy Way Out's chorus remind you of Day Tripper by the beatles? Either way i love the album. And i'm not a very indie rock\ Alternative chick!
