  • Why does everyone hate this album?

Although some songs are not the greatest of all time, this album still needs some more love. One song that needs more care is Fixxxer, the eight minute epic at the end. You can’t force them to play it live. If they don’t want to, they don’t have to. Low Man’s Lyric, a seven and a half minute folk ballad has a resemblance to a Tom Waits song. What gives you the right to bash a criminally underrated hard rock album? I give it a four out of five. Some songs are fillers, like Better Than You, Bad Seed, Prince Charming, and Attitude, but they are okay and aren’t the worst things in the history of mankind. Another underrated gem is The Unforgiven II, the sequel to the insanely successful The Unforgiven, on the black album. Honestly, this is my favorite of the trilogy. Anyways, rant over.

Load and Reload both sucked, but Reload had 2 decent songs: Fuel and the Memory Remains. If you really wanna know what the real Metallica is, listen to their first four albums

This album is horrible! 3 songs are so-so at best.. Load is not much better, but it is better.

I have been with Metallica since the beginning.I have a mixed feelings about this.It is not bad album. But it is not great either and with Metallica I am used to perfection. This album has 3 very good songs but also a few bad ones thats why the rate is 3 stars. This is not metal but good hard rock.It is definitely better than Load and St Anger which is the worst album.

Metallica was really going for a more commercial album, and to me it just was a really sub par album. I totally respect anyone who likes this album, and Metallica is truly my favorite band ever. But this album was just not them. In my opinion.

People will argue the fact that this is not original coming from Metallica, all bands have different periods in they're careers where they experiment with new sounds, arrangements and styles. Personally, if a band wants to do these things, well that's a good thing because generally that's were a band learns and gets better at the craft of making music, which by the way is art.
