  • Amazing

This is one of my favorite albums. I am not surprised that Clapton didn't write anything on it because so many of the songs that he calls hits were not composed by him. He has an uncanny ability to put his mark on songs and make them his own. The album is mature and savy. He choses some old favorites. Maybe that is the reason for the title. Angel, Further On Down the Road, All of Me and Still Got the Blues are all radio ready. If you love Clapton this is worth the listen.

Aptly named, this CD stinks like one. I love Eric and have followed the all musical changes from Beano on, but this might just be the most throw away group of songs he's ever recorded. I only hope this record was made to fulfill a record contract and not EC's new musical direction.

Quite different collection of styles from across the years. Love every song done as only Clapton could interpret !!A Winner would give 10 stars

Despite the negative reviews posted here, this album grows on you with time. We saw Eric's live show soon after this was released, and he rocked the house. See him live before he stops touring, which is coming soon. Still a great guitarist and showman.

What a wonderful stroll down memory lane Old Sock is. It's the warmest album Eric Clapton has ever released. Old Sock is one to cherish and listen to over and over.

I have been listening to EC since the 60's and he never does the same thing. One never knows where he will take you, but it is always good. I read many people that want Eric always ripping it up. They miss the beauty of his artistry. He is not a one trick pony and he is in a separateand unique catagory. No one has ever been great in pop, rock and blues but Eric. He is as timeless as his music. Enjoy this album for what it is - Eric enjoying playing songs he likes his way and with other artists he wanted to play with on this album. Chill out and enjoy Eric while you can, one day he really will retire and his legacy will be in his diverse albums and creativity. It already is!
