If you don't get this, you don't get much.
Mr. Essentialism, you are a dork!
This is interesting as a history piece, However, so many songs with the same chord progression and arrangement becomes a bit too much. The songs sound very much the same. The topics are also not particularly enlightened - I'm the man, I want all the women, I already had all the women, I cheated on you, you cheated me, etc. Then again, that is the topic of most popular music. Presumably that depressing content and monotony of most popular music finds its roots right there, in the monotony of the blues. So, a history piece. Not something that I would feel the desire to listen to particularly often, though.
He got the blues heard!

Muddy Waters lived in my hometown before he died.
Windy City Blues
Great blues performer, very nice material. But the music isn't the only attractive thing on this album, There's about 50 songs for 20 bucks, and those 50 songs capture his works perfectly, so this is an amazing must-buy value.
Muddy is god
before i really got into muddy i was really into Brian Jones and Jimmy Page. I still am but i believe that muddy is the greatest. Brian and Page liked muddy alot, and he is the greatest.
Good quality, good collection.
A great set of songs with pretty good recordings. Some other albums have similar songs, but if you are new to Muddy Waters, this is a good starting set with good clarity. Try other albums for some of his other famous songs or other performances of these classics.
this is good...
i was going to just pick a song, but they're all off the hook...and 50 songs, 20 dollars??? come on!
