Wow what can I say the song Burn is so absolutely horrible her vocals are horrendous and you can't understand a word she tries to sing and she is a prime example of pop music being at it's all time worst. Her lyrics are so shallow and have no depth at all to them any 3 year old could write her songs. Actually now that I think of it she probably did have an infant write her lyrics. I saw some say she could play guitar I'd be willing to bet not very well based on this horrible music and vocals she continues to dump on her 12 year old fans. She should feel horrible to charge people money for having to have to listen to that awful music. Please go get a job at McDonald's or something and go away and actually earn your money instead of stealing it from little kids who don't know any better.
This is Ellie Goulding's best album yet😍!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an album for the history books. There is nothing that has ever come close to reaching the same heights as "Halcyon" did in 2013. Breathtakingly optimistic, yet earthshatteringly heart-breaking. Astounding.
I would like to start by saying my review is based on the original 12 track release.
Halcyon is a term that basically means the calmness after the storm, and this term perfectly describes the sound and the mood of the album.
Halcyon is an album I enjoy and love even more with every listen, which I have never felt about any other album before. Each time I listen, I discover how much depth, thought, and emotion was put into each song. Ellie has found a way to tell a story without giving much detail. The songs speak for themselves with their haunting and uplifting lyrics, placed on top of euphoric electronica instrumentals.
The standout songs on the album are My Blood (obviously the best song of Ellie's career), Figure 8, Halcyon, and Explosions. But really, all of these songs are so incredible that any and all of them can be considered the 'standout' song on the album.
It amazes me how Ellie even managed to make weaker tracks- Hanging On and I Know You Care- seem like masterpieces in themselves.
Overall, this album has no filters and I would not change a single thing about it. I truly believe this is one of the best electronica albums and one of the most underrated albums of the decade. Everyone knows Ellie for her string of pop hits, but not nearly as many people know this electronica masterpiece.
Omg I can't say how amazing this album is!! And it's just sooooo good!! Ellie did make it during a tough time in her life, but she did so well on it!! So many songs appeal to me! Dead in the water has to be my favorite!
Brings back so many good memories
This album is absolutely my favorite album of all time. Every song is filled with powerful emotion, it`s like you can feel what she feels. Don`t Say A Word-this is one of my favorites, a great way to start the album. Very dramatic and dark, highly underrated 9/10. My Blood-my favorite out of them all, so beautiful. Probably one of the most painful ones 10/10. Anything Could Happen- this one`s a classic for me, since it was the only track I knew on the album before I got it. Really catchy 9/10. Only You-this one`s pretty good. Not my favorite, but I still like it 8/10. Halcyon-great song, this one`s strong and "peacefull" 9/10. Figure 8-the track that takes you through twists and turns, pounding and attention grabbing 10/10. JOY-starts off sad and depressing, then ends happier. Beautiful track 9/10. Hanging On- I just found out recently that this was a cover, but an exhilerating one. Awesome 10/10. Explosion-definetly one of the strongest, most dazzling song of the whole album. The strings, piano, and opera combine well to make a memorable track 10/10. I Know You Care-my least favorite track, never really liked it. Nonetheless it`s pretty 6/10. Atlantis-another underrated song, this is a heart-pounding and emotional song, it`s great 9/10. Dead In The Water-yet again a slow song. Her vocals are fantastic, and you`ll find yourself sinking into the song with her 8/10. I Need Your Love-not my favorite, but an okay Calvin Harris+Ellie song 7/10 Lights (single version)-we all loved it when it first came out, one of the singles she`s known for. Of course, it got old over the years, but it`s a classic 8/10. Those were the tracks on the original release, so I`m going to just comment on those. You definietly cannot forget this album. 3 years later and you`ll still be listening to it. A timeless album 10/10
Beautiful voice and wonderful melodies ❤️ I love this ENTIRE TRACK!
Stands out from the crowd
I normally don’t like anything labeled pop music. I usually listen to alternative, rock, electronic and of the like. Ellie is the exception to my rule. This album has to be one of my favorites out of my entire music collection. She puts so much real meaning and emotion into her songs, which in my opinion lacks in most pop songs. This album is simply amazing and I never get tired of listening to it.
