  • Thrilled to hear an update of my fave

I have loved this music since I saw Eric on MTV unplugged, so much so that I wore out my CD of this album. So glad to get a remastered, expanded version of this timeless celebration of Eric's musical blues roots!

I'm 28 years old, my mother RAISED me on this extraordinary man. Blessed to have attended 5 concerts so far hoping more and each one is like just the most surreal ecstasy. When I was 5-6 I told my mom when I'm a mommy and have a baby girl I will name her Layla.. Well 20 years later I did end up having a daughter and I most definitely named her Layla. The day her father and I met it was one of the first things I informed him to.. We ever have a baby and it's a girl, ain't naming her anything else other than Layla. Lol ERIC CLAPTON has been a major part of my life his music is my life. This particular album is one of my favorites, he is just a beautiful soul, he just never ceases to amaze me.
  • I love this man.

Unplugged has always been a stand-out album for me, but the addition of early versions of other tracks - particularly My Father's Eyes - just show how great he really is, and what a fantastic band played on this album. And yes, I do have a kazoo for San Francisco Bay Blues....

When this unplugged album was recorded in 1992 it won 6 grammys in one night. If you listen to it you will know why. Eric's play on his materpiece "Layla" is fantastic as im sure you all know because why else would you be listening to the deluxe version. What's new on this album is Circus, My Father's Eyes, Worried Life Blues, Running on Faith (Alternate), and Walkin' Blues (Alternate. Circus is one of my favorite Clapton songs because it truly captures his final moments with his son. This unplugged version is rawer and slightly more soulful than on his "Pilgrim" album simply because this is a more intimate setting. Both takes of "My Father's Eyes" are very similar. It was never said why they weren't included on the original recording, but most of us concluded that it's because one of the takes was recorded somewhate sloppy, having to restart the song because of a rare Clapton mistake. "Worried Life Blues" is another blues standard that Eric plays a lot, so if you are a fan im sure you have heard it. Lastly, a somewhat inferior, but different version of "Running On Faith". To me, the slide in the beginning of this song just has a weaker riff than the one played on the original recording. In all, if you dont already have the masterpiece that is "Unplugged", I suggest to buy the deluxe version because there are gems on here that many of us have been waiting for. for a long long time.
