Great to hear the demos, now available after all these years locked up in some vault! Wow - I can't begin to imagine what the full Paul Buckmaster treatment for Sisters of the Cross would have turned out. The demo for Come Down in Time is as good as the original album version. Brilliant stuff.

Yes. I think this is his best album. Other albums will have singles here and there but this one has so many good songs on it. His greatest hits album has few of these. This album was so early in his career and did not receive as much airplay as his later efforts.

Tumbleweed Connection struck a chord in me in the early seventies. Although I hated 'country' music. This was something else again. The first of Americana via London. The songs are strong and Elton is in fine form and voice. You hear the Leon Russell influence, but, overall this was a unique and wonderful animal. There just was nothing else like it. And now personally when I hear this album it takes me back like no other album. I've got my bell bottoms on chasing pretty girls in the park (in a g00d way). Lots of memories. For the anniversary release you get many alternate takes which are just fabulous. A great release. Enjoy.
