  • Slang: A Masterpiece

First, I don't know why all these music journalists talk crap about Slang. Slangs innovative and very creative. Def Leppard in the 1980's and early 1990's were if not the top key acts coming out of the 1980's. Pearl of Euphoria, is my favorite song on this album and it almost sounds like Nirvana's Come As You Are, guitar wise. Def Leppard mixes pop, metal, rock, and even R&B (Love Bites) together and makes fantastic pieces of music. I think this is probably one of Def Leppard's best albums of the 1990's and I bet others would disagree. My favorite Leppard albums is Retro Active and Adrenalize, but I think this is a great album. I've learned not to read music critisism, thanks to Mick Jagger who says most of the journalists write rubish pieces. I think this is a great album and overall I think they should visit this sonic level again sometime in the future.
  • The extra's make a great album even better

Slang was one of my favorite albums Def Leppard even when it came out. The extra's are a great look behind the curtain which adds to my appreciation of how much they experimented to get the tracks that made it to that release years ago.
  • Awesome!!

  • Cool Interesting Album

Im going to admit that the songs completely took me by surprise, as I am not used to their music usually sounding like this. No, I did not know this was an album that was released before, but that doesn't matter to me. All in all, past the shock part of how these songs differ compared to their previous albums, they are really good songs in my opinion. It does not deserve the hate it has gotten.
  • Lel, fake reviews.

Reading some of these other reviews in a joke. The album is just ok, without Steve Clark Def Leppard lost its way.
  • REALLY???

We get the "deluxe" edition of Slang but no High N Dry or Pyromania?? This album is crap!!
  • Always Was A Great Album

    By JDR37
Big DL fan and loved this album when it came out back in 96. Never understood why it was so under valued or appreciated. Just a lot of great songs and listening to them now reminds me of those days I would listen to it while working out, etc. Just hope DL and Apple can come to an agreement someday on their other albums.
  • ‘Bout time

Some good Def rock songs here. I’ve missed these guys. Getting back to form.
  • A great underrated Album

Slang never gets old, and I wish Def Leppard would do more of that style. Some great standout songs on the album- Slang, Truth and my favorite- Turn to Dust. Kick back and crank it.
  • Excellent!

Slang is a fantastic record. I love track #13 Truth?, and the Demo version of Truth? track #31. I feel that these versions are much better than the original track that was released on the final product. These version are much heavier, and wish these were released in this format back in 1996. I like listening to both versions of this track, and you can listen to the variations of both of them. I have always been a big fan of Slang, and appreciate all the songs that were released. Track #20 Work It Out is very good, and the middle part of the song jams with the Savage's bass, Allen's drums, and Phil and Viv's guitar jam is cool. Its really cool in the fact as it carry's on for over a minute, and reminds me of an Hysteria type phase song such as Rocket. It is obvious that it was "Leppardized" after Viv's Demo. I prefer this version of Work It Out (track #20) than the released version. Its a great listen, and recommend to anyone these tracks. I have been burning them up as I work out to these songs on a daily basis. Pearl of Euphoria is such a cool song, and so fitting of a true Def Leppard song. I get it where the band was when they were developing this album at the time in their lives, as well as the current state of the music industry. It is a very good record, and still listen to it quite frequently. I am so thankful for Def Leppard, and for releasing this record with all the bonus material such as demos, drafts, and extras. These are real treats for fans! Thank you so much for all that you do!
