Reviews

  • Wrong version of 'Physical Attraction'

iTunes has recycled 'Physical Attraction' from Madonna's original album instead of using the version from previous versions of the "You Can Dance" album.

One of the few albums out there that makes me wish I still had a turntable! I loved this when I bought the record - I love it still. I forget the context of "New Madonna," Ray of Light and such - take myself back to the time when her call of "everybody is a star" was one of the amazing things in my world. I am generally one to believe that songs should run about 4 minutes and no more - and usually don't like remix-type albums. How can an album go wrong period with such a brilliant beginning as Spotlight? In rating all of Madonna's albums today, I realize I have been on the critical side with most of them, even though she has been my favorite artist through most of her career. I can say nothing bad at all about You Can Dance - I promise you, even if you can't dance, you will believe you can before it's over.

This Album-mix is a great idea of "how to make dance music" you can listen at the gym, running, camping, etc. becouse never stop the music, "Confessions on a Dance Floor's" album got the same style (non stop music) both are excellent purchase

I am quite pleased with the material on this album. I enjoyed each dance mix, as well, as the original songs that they came from. I think it could have done well to have one minor improvement. I would love to unearth the original 12" remix of "Dress You Up". I wish it, too, would have appeared on this album.

This is a wonderful album with many hits! Spotlight is amazing along with others. This album is great but i suggest buying the songs individually.

These were the Greatest Hits...then! When Madonna released this compilation of her #1 dance floor anthem she solidified herself the Queen of the Dance Floor and we all surrendered. Except for the obscure "Spotlight", all the other songs resonate with her fans and remind us of simpler day when Madonna beconed us dance...for inspiration!
  • Fun with Madonna

You can dance was issued to the massess to fill a gap between true blue and who's that girl. since we know madonna cant go a year without releasing something (a movie soundtrack, a greatest hits comp, studio album you get the idea) this album was perfect for the moment. the only single released was spotlight, which wasnt included in the true blue album so it was released here instead and it works. its a fun album that uses all of the sounds the 80s had to offer. i think everyone should own this mainly for the nostalgia.
