This album is criminally underrated. She used the impact of the Iraq War and her displeasure with President Bush, as well as her observations of American culture as a whole (at the time) to craft a poignant and heartfelt letter to the masses: Love is the answer, note hate. Before those terms became fashionable she was trying to express that we need to look at ourselves and our own American trauma before we judge others. It was ahead of it's time. The three tracks in the middle cement the heart of the album: Nobody knows me, Nothing Fails, Intervention, and X-Static Procress are some of her most revealilng and raw songs to date. This album is a must buy.

I get where Madonna was trying to go with this, but it just ended up sounding tired. This should’ve been her attempt to give the electronic sound a little bit of a rest and start off with something fresh and new. Definitely didn’t want her to do music that was popular at the time but also felt like she could’ve came up with something a bit more appealing and creative. This is like “Music” on steroids. “Hollywood” should’ve been a single in the US and it would’ve been a smash.

Her 90s music will ALWAYS stand the test of time . Even tho I’m not a fan of her 80s work it’s still better and listenable than her 2000s till now . This definitely was way worse than “ Music “ .

This album turned a lot of people off initially because of the “non Madonnaesque” elements. These are what make this album the good time it is! Saw her in concert with a friend twice for this tour. Each show had a different vibe even though it was exactly the same show, technically. Nobody Knows Me is a standout non single. Again, it’s sort of got that 2000’s “we’re in the beginning stages of doing some really crazy stuff with auto tune” feel to it. But, now that music has gotten much worse, I think people might appreciate the album more. It was a little ahead of its time (In Madonna fashion) and I feel it still stands the test of time.

This is truly one of her best albums! I always come back to it, because it was so fresh and different at that time. Bravo!
