Lord Protect My Child is the greatest blues song...written by Bob Dylan, so fresh & I love singing it, Susan has some soul.
  • A Joy to Listen to

Susan Tedeschi has been on my radar for a while and recently has made it into heavy rotation on my iPod with this album. I recently downloaded "Hope and Desire" and I would rank it as my current favorite album by this artist. This album includes soulful blues numbers like "You Got the Silver" and "The Danger Zone," some gospel-ish cuts like "Lord Protect my Child" and "Magnificent Sanctuary Band" and some good old pop tunes like "Security" and "Loving You is Sweeter Than Ever" Susan's performance on this album reminds me very much of early Bonnie Raitt - which in my book is a good thing. Pick up this album, you won't be disapointed.
  • She's the real deal

Three stars b/c I'm not in to all the songs, but a couple of tracks are amazing. Who buys the whole album anymore anyway? Follow and Tired of My Tears, check those out, she's full of emotion and can translate it into music like only the greats can. At first I thought she was kind of in the mold of Bonnie Raitt but after giving her a chance, I realized the similarities are just superficial, Susan is singing from the heart and being the artist she is inside she's not trying to be one of her idols, like I said she's the real deal. I love Don't Think Twice too off another album, sorry Dylan the song is hers now.
  • amazing

Okay, I've figured it out, there is nothing she can sing that I don't love.
  • This is a certified Blues Woman...

    By BluesPeach
..with a hell of a voice and an inspired album. Each song rings new inspiration and renewal of spirit. Well mixed as any of the best blues albums I have heard of late--as good as Road to Escondido IMHO...go Susan! At once a tent revival, blues salute and the toppper good Old Mr. Charlie singing just like Old Pig Pen from the Grateful Dead...Cuz Mister Charlie told me so!
  • Susan Hits Another One Out of the Park

I have been a Susan Tedeschi fan for years, and this album was another example of her ability to touch that deep raw part of you in a way that only blues can do. Tedeschi's voice has a longing that is normally found only in musicians twice her age. I have seen her perform on a number of occasions, and as always this performance is a shining example of the power and impact of the blues.
