What's to say that hasn't been said on the record? Understated, mellow and fitting tribute to the man by so many greats. Such a loss. Let this album wash over you a few times before you make the call for yourself. Once, at the tiny Palms Playhouse in Davis, CA, way back when, most of the house was sitting on metal folding chairs the entire show. Diggin' it but just stttin' there. JJ came back on for the encore and said; "Y'all been sittin' long enough. put the chairs to the side and dance." Lit the place up! Those folks went right to it and the place erupted. A quiet 10 feet tall, that man. Thanks!
  • Clapton is the greatest!

Eric Clapton found the best rock-n-roll and blues guys around to put this CD together. To hear Mark Knopfler play the guitar and sing again is absolutely awesome. Who would of ever thought that Tom Petty would harmonize so well together with Eric Clapton. Can't stop listening to this cd! Absolutely love the combination of the great artists and great guitar players in this cd!
  • Great covers

This is a "Tribute" to John Cale's Music! It's not an album of people just doing "Cale" songs? This is a work of Love for J.J.'s Music! Eric plays better here, than his last 3 albums! Guest Stars are all great! Willie Nelson & Eric Clapton doing "Songbird" & John Mayer & Eric Clapton doing "Magnolia", these 2 alone? Is worth the price of this CD! John Cale was great & the best songwriter & performer you never heard of! This is a great chance to hear songs, performed by Legends, from one of America's greatest songwriters ever! His "Tulsa Rock" sound appeals to everyone & it's just good Ol' Rock/Country/ Blues music! The world has lost another great musician but his music? Will live forever! I urge the younger generations, to try it? It's history & I guarantee you'll love it! He wrote the anti-Drug classic "Cocaine" & one of Clapton's first solo hits, "After Midnight"! J.J. Cale was a great American musician & his music will live on & on! Forever!
