I have all Ms Krall's CDs - I can't imagine how I missed this one. This is by far one of her best and I love every single song.

Diana Krall is borderless in her musical traversing, she's hip and imaginative and while her foundation may be built on jazz sensibilities, to me, she's beyond definition. WALLFLOWER is proof positive of this… the woman is not constrained by space and time - she’s created an album of stunning and subtle covers of pop brilliance from the past 50 years from artists like Elton John, The Eagles, and The Mamas & The Papas…. The only song missing, is her hubby's sleeper smash, "Alison"! After selling over 600,000 units in the first four months, the 5-time Grammy winning pianist and singer celebrates the release with an expanded deluxe edition of WALLFLOWER : The Complete Sessions on Verve Records. Produced by 16-time Grammy award winner David Foster, Diana reclaims some of the greatest songs on the planet. The Complete Sessions introduces four additional tracks celebrating Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and notable collaborations with Sarah McLachlan and Vince Gill. Catch the WALLFLOWER TOUR in Europe and the U.S. this fall!

Arrangements are too snoozy for me. This isn't Jazz. Why I can appreciate reinterpretation, there's no life.

David Foster is like that kid in “To Kill A Mockingbird” who pours syrup on his meat.

What happened to her ? David Foster? Wow - what a total disappointment. Nothing like “I love being here with you”, “East of the Sun, West of the Moon”, “Devil May Care”, “Frim Fram Sauce”, “I Love Being Here With You”, “‘Deed I Do”, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. One of my favorite jazz artists is no more????? How could she do this to herself? That’s what makes me want to sob -

The song that brought me to Diana Krall is her cover "Operator (That's Not the Way It Feels)" that was originally written and performed by the late great Jim Croce. Great job Diana!

Has it really been over a decade since Diana Krall was bringing her "A" game?!!... Downhill ever since Live in Paris. I hope this is the peak of her "Cheese"era. Once an inspiration, now an embarrassment. This is the musical equivalent of a Snuggie...
  • Songs sung extremely well!!!

I admit I didn't like Glad Rag Doll at first listen. I enjoy Diana Krall's talent as an artist, her unique voice and piano virtuosity. I am a huge fan and why must we always label everything. The Beatles were covered by Lani Hall and Sergio Mendes and it was smooth jazz. Diana Krall's rendition of Desperado is better than Linda Ronstadt's and the Eagle's. If you don't like this album then don't buy it but if you can't enjoy talent then I feel sorry for you, but don't blame Diana for it. If you want to be a jazz purist fine then you pick up a microphone and we'll critique you and see how you like it. I appreciate talent and labels are just labels and in ending to take from another Eagle's song just Get over it

Ms Krall is an excellent pianist with a sweet voice and her jazz tunes are quite listenable; but this is big disappointment. A solid selection of tunes deserving of a fresh approach have been homogenized and drenched in syrupy strings until they all run together into a bland mush with one song barely distinguishable from the next. I hoped for more imagination and a small combo but that was not to be. Maybe next time.
