Jimmy before the beach. This is one of his best.

I think this is Buffett's best album ever with great lyrics and his best story telling voice. Though he is best known for his later work, it is lightweight when compared to this earlier recording. It may be my imagination, but it must have influenced Robert Earl Keen's early quality work as well.

My dad let me listen to some Buffet when I was little and I've liked it ever since. This is a great album!

Great album......his best. Buffett tells a great story and puts it to even better music. Love the steel guitar.

One of Buffet's great early albums! Several classic ballads, plus the ever - popular "God's Own Drunk" - the song describing a bear dance! Very funny story song.

An absolute have to own for any Parrothead. This is drunk Carribean rock n roll at its greatest. Tracks 3, 6, 7, 8 and 10 are super Buffett tunes and the re-telling of the old Lord Richard Buckley cut "God's Own Drunk" is a priceless gem. If you love Jimmy and don't have this one BUY IT NOW!

This has been a favorite of mine since it came out over 30 years ago. I've lost, damaged or given it away too many times to count and replace it every time. In my opinion, it's Jimmy Buffet's best. The fact that most of the cuts aren't radio hits is one of my favorite things about it. It's endearing and addictive. And to my knowledge this album is the only place you can get "God's Own Drunk" better known to us as "The Bear Song" - a true classic.
  • Love the old stuff!!

i love pretty much everything buffett has ever done, but for me, you can't beat the old stuff, and this is one of his best albums, top to bottom. it's got some stuff everyone knows (track 1 & track 2), but it's compiled mostly of obscure tracks with great lyrics (tracks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10). anyone who considers themselves, even the slightest bit, a buffett fan needs to own this album!
