Last Mango in Paris
By Lucky Loser
Marshall Chapman's contribution to the Coral Reefers is perfect! Then get Harrison Ford cracking his whip, Roy Orbison, Glenn Frey, and Timothy B Schmidt pitching in makes this a great Album!
"Beyond The End", thank you Roy Orbison
The closing song "Beyond The End" is a favorite of mine. Quite different from any other Jimmy Buffett song I have enjoyed, its stands alone as a melancholy and lovely gospel piece. Tasty guitar solo and then the chorus kicks in. The chorus is wonderful, first a fine soulful solo voice above it all, and who finishes it off? Whose voice is that at the very end? I finally learned today, 20 years after this was recorded. It is Roy Orbison, just three years before he passed. Thank you, Roy, and Jimmy. Great stuff.
Like it but not his best :(
I liked some of the tracks on this album. Dont get me wrong, Jimmy made a great album but its almost too much...technical add ons of the 80s its not the tropical feel that set him apart from the beginning of his career to what he is today. Still I would recommend this album to anyone who likes Jimmy!
Good stuff etc but we already knew that cuz it's from Jimmy
One of the best albums
If you are a Jimmy Buffett longtime parrothead or a new listener, I highly recommend this album. You will be listening and loving great Jimmy Buffet hits of the '80s, and will want to play the songs over and over again, especially Gypsies in Palace, Desperation Samba, Mango, Phone Doesn't Ring, and of course, Jolly Mon. This is one of the two Jimmy Buffett albums I grew up with, and I'm still singing these songs to date. Awesome album!
One of Jimmy's best, along with everything else!
If u like Jimmy Buffet and r a tru Parrot Head then you can't find a song that u hate, same with this album.
But A Legend Never Dies
Great album, with a great name. Everybody should own it.(but that is what i think about everyone of his album. If you don't want the whole album try 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
Typical Buffett Magic
Jimmy's Last Mango in Paris is another fantastic album. Tracks like Gypies in the Palace and Jolly Mon Sing are fun and catchy. Along with the title track, Desperation Samba (Halloween in Tijuana), and If the Phone Doesn't Ring, It's Me, this album is one of the best.
