  • Forget genre

Just saw the Mavericks at ACL-Live last night. One of the best live performances I have seen in years. They played a lot of the numbers from this album, which is great music regardless of what someone tries to pigeon-hole it. Ten minutes into the concert I was moving every appendage and had the best case of happy feet in years. BTW, since it was the last night of the tour and they were in Austin, they played Shotgun Willie and closed with Waltz Around Texas. If you have never hear Raul Malo's sweet tenor on this hardcore country tune, you have missed heaven.

The combination of the awesome voice of the unbeatable Raul Malo and the wonderul instrumentation of The Mavericks is like a little piece of Heaven! I love this group and have for years. Keep up the good work boys!!
  • Fantastic Follow-up to In Time!

    By Diane Sparkles
When the band released In Time I thought it was the best ever and couldn't be topped and yet Mono finds a way to match, if not exceed it. The songs are terrific, the arrangements are fantastic, and it sure does make you want to dance! I love how they mixed in some songs with a classic country feel, like Pardon Me, in with the up tempo dance songs we know and love. Congratulations, The Mavericks, you have done it again!
  • Blow me away!

    By Entitle to my opinion!
This group have such a mix... You hear so many influences is like putting all my favorites on an ice cream bowl. 👍🏻
  • Mono is great but...

Love mono recordings and the raw energy it brings out of a mix. But this album was mixed a bit harshly/sharply IMO. Fatigues the ears. Great tunes though.
  • WOW!

Mono is right up there with In TIme. I love all their songs.

  • This music is ALIVE!

    By David The Elder
My wife and I never miss a Maverick's show. They play to packed houses wherever they go. These guy have so much fun performing every time feels like the first time. Raul Malo has the most incredible voice and range since Roy Orbison. The arrangements are sensational. They travel with a sax, trumpet, drums, accordion, stand up bass, keyboard wiz and one of the most interesting and exciting lead guitar guys, Eddie Perez, you'll ever see on stage. We can't get enough of The Mavericks. A major LA Times reviewer picked "In Time" as the best album of 2014. So where are the nominations? Why aren't they playing the Grammies? Because they're different and true to themselves. What does that say about the music business?
  • WOW

One more time they hit out of the park. Picked up right where they left off in my opinion even better.
  • Mavericks create a genre!!!

    By AllMass2
Another outstanding record from a fantastic band with the greatest singer on the planet. Why try pigeon hole The Mavericks into one, two, three or how ever many genres?? Just call it Mavericks! Can’t wait for the upcoming show in Dallas this month.
